YouTuber Boogie2988 Issued Warrant Over September’s Shooting Incident, Plans To Turn Himself In Tomorrow
Following the shooting incident in September last year involving YouTuber Booogie2988, which led to the Boogie2988 Pointing a Gun meme, the Washington County, Arkansas sheriff’s department has now issued a warrant for his arrest, citing aggravated assault.
Boogie, whose real name is Steven Williams, was involved in an altercation with YouTuber Frank Hassle last September where Williams ultimately fired a warning shot in the air after Hassle came to his house and knocked on his door. Leading up to this incident, Hassle posted several tweets about Williams that he described as “dehumanizing.”
YouTuber @Boogie2988 currently has a warrant out for his arrest in Washington County, AR for "Aggravated Assault." The Bond is set at $5,000. No telling at this point what the circumstances of this charge entail. We'll cover it tomorrow on Tequila Sunrise. https://t.co/eRmEIlzuzG pic.twitter.com/WlS0rHMQ7R

According to the Arkansas sheriff’s department website, the warrant was issued on May 7th with a bond set at $5,000. Late last night, the news began spreading on Twitter as prominent individuals like Keemstar tweeted about it into the early hours today.
In one tweet, Keemstar said he spoke on the phone with Boogie after hearing the news and stated that he “already arranged with his attorney to turn himself in on Wednesday.” Additionally, he confirmed that it was related to the shooting incident last summer.
There is a warrant for
Boogie2988 ‘a arrest. I just got off the phone with Boogie he already arranged with his attorney to turn himself in on Wednesday. This is a result of him firing the gun in the air when

Williams also confirmed the news himself, thanking his supporters for sticking by him throughout the events but also adding that he couldn’t comment much more on the warrant “for obvious reasons.”
So news circulating around me: can’t really comment for obvious reason. Thank you and anyone for support in this situation tho. I am gonna do the right thing and do it by the book. Glad to cooperate with authorities. Heading home today to do so.

Man, absolutely fuck Frank Hassle.
Don't get me wrong, I don't watch Boogie or enjoy his content, but Frank's a neckbeard MDE stan and wannabe Sam Hyde. His entire thing is literally just harassing random people. Look him up on YouTube.
This is the kind of guy he is, this he what he does.
He went to the home of a known, self-admitted mentally ill dude to harass him, then got told by said mentally ill dude he was going to shoot him if he steps into his house. Then he went back the next day. AFTER being told by the dude he was going to kill him.
Frank's lucky he didn't get fucking killed, but moreover he's a massive cunt for baiting Boogie like this then going all "smh he needs help". He's relying on the fact most people don't know who he is or what he does, because that's obviously an empty statement if you're so much as vaguely familiar with the guy.

Isn't this to do with the guy that keeps harassing him at his house after repeated warnings? If so, then at this point he's absolutely just defending a home invasion. Damn 'Tubers don't get that poking someone you think's a lolcow gets you the horns.
Bobbobbobbob
Should have skipped the warning and just kneecap him instead.

Harassment? Absolutely! Home invasion? I think not.
Trespassing is not the same as invading, he didn't enter the house, nor did he plan to. No direct threat to personal safety. either.
You don't use a gun there, you call the police and serve a restraining order.
> A hot prowl burglary, cat burglary, or home invasion is a sub-type of burglary (or in some jurisdictions, a separately defined crime) in which an offender unlawfully breaks and enters into a building or residence while the occupants are inside.
Also depending on the state, there may be a "duty to retreat" before acting violently as in: you MUST attempt to get away from the situation and once that is no longer helpful, THEN you can defend yourself.
Castle doctrine states don't require retreat, which also results in much higher human casualties (and very often people killing someone then claiming they "felt threatened" and getting away with murder).

I'm solidly a 2A kind of guy, and dislike the guy harassing Boogie, but my understanding is that he's in trouble legally because Boogie fired his gun.
The law doesn't recognize the concept of a "warning shot" so if you purposely fire your gun it assumes you fired it at someone. His defense may try to argue that the guy harassing him was a threat that warranted it(which is going to be difficult), but if that doesn't work he'll legally be treated the same as someone taking pot shots(and missing) at mailmen outside his house.
That said, that's just my take from a legal standpoint and I don't think he did anything egregious, and if anything he's somewhat justified. The good news is that given the circumstances he'll probably get very mild sentencing(probably just a fine) and the jury may acquit him entirely.
Lastly, as someone who kinda dislikes Boogie, the other guy harassing him should face some sort of repercussions for this, or at least should do the somewhat decent thing and offer to pay his fine/legal fees.
