Viral Video Of Joe Biden Appearing To Call NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman 'Gary Batman' Inspires Memes
Every year, sports teams that win their respective championship are invited to the White House for a photo opportunity and a chance to meet the President, which is what happened to the Tampa Bay Lightning after they secured the Stanley Cup for themselves again.
During the press conference, President Joe Biden began thanking several people, including the commissioner of the National Hockey League, Gary Bettman — except when he went to thank him, instead of saying "Commissioner Bettman," he purportedly referred to him as "Commissioner Batman," which was immediately picked up on by the players with Victor Hedman having the most notable reaction of the team.

The gaffe itself was enough to inspire people to create memes about the event and viral video. Unlike other gaffes, in which Biden himself is the subject of the memes, it was more Gary "Batman" who had the meme spotlight, with some people even creating memes of Batman through the perspective of him being a hockey player.
