Twitter Rumored To Be Experimenting With Dislike Buttons
Hot off its implementation of "Fleets," an Instagram Stories-like feature everybody loves, Twitter is looking into another feature it hopes people want even though they didn't ask for it: a dislike button.
In an exchange with a concerned user, Twitter's product lead Kayvon Beykpour let slip that Twitter was exploring a dislike button system.
As Beykpour's casual mention of a dislike button hardly constitutes an official announcement, it's impossible to tell how a dislike button would alter the Twitter experience. Nevertheless, the idea spread quickly through the platform, where users announced they were going to jump ship if it ever came to fruition.
However, at least one user sarcastically lamented the loss of the "positive" atmosphere Twitter has cultivated over the years.
Yet again, Twitter seems steadfast in not giving users the edit button they've been clamoring for for years.
