Trump Retweets Literal Fake News Site The Babylon Bee
President Donald Trump, who has made rallying against alleged fake news a central point of his presidency, retweeted literal fake news website The Babylon Bee this morning, looking to the world like he'd been fooled by a satire website.
Yesterday, Twitter was briefly down while the New York Post's controversial report on Hunter Biden was a trending topic on the platform, and The Babylon Bee, a conservative satire site, mashed the two stories together, writing, Twitter Shuts Down Entire Network To Slow Spread Of Negative Biden News.
The site, which literally bills itself as "Fake News You Can Trust" on Twitter, caught the attention of the President, who tweeted, "Wow, this has never been done in history. This includes his really bad interview last night. Why is Twitter doing this. Bringing more attention to Sleepy Joe & Big T."

While there is of course a chance that Trump was simply rolling with the joke or was perhaps consciously using the headline to spread disinformation to his followers, to most onlookers, it appeared as though the President had been duped.
Trump thought the Babylon Bee story was real. Stop deluding yourselves.

The Babylon Bee, naturally, jumped on the free and powerful publicity and quickly pushed out another story.

Maybe he's stupid. Maybe.
Or maybe he just brought a lot of attention to the Bee, because they're funny.
Or maybe he brought a lot of attention to this specific Bee article, which may make people look into what it's satirizing. That being, Twitter and Facebook's unprecedented censoring of a link to the New York Post article on Hunter and Joe Biden's Ukranian corruption accusations. How Twitter censored Trump's own team, and Kayleigh McEnany for sharing the link. This link: https://ny post. co m/2020/10/ 14/email-reve als-how-hun ter-bi den-introdu ced-u krain ian-biz-ma n-to-dad/ And maybe this is Trump's way to call attention to the story in a sideways manner that gets around that censorship. Because we all know the media cannot resist talking at great length about Trump's latest stupid Tweet.
But maybe he's just stupid.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
He's just stupid.

Gotta say, BB has been on point with writing articles that would clearly be satire during any other year, yet require a double take now. I've had several instances of people on my fb feed sharing it as a real headline, and I myself got duped with the "NBA players wear frilled lace in honor of RBG" headline.
