Marvel is about to add yet another 150 minutes onto its vast runtime of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Thursday's release of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. While we can't say for certain, it's likely the many film lovers out there who have avoided the MCU because of its gargantuan catalog of movies one must watch to appreciate the various interconnecting plots will likely not start their MCU journey at the sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange.

This created a unique opportunity to do a little trolling for one Twitter user, Brazilian film critic Gabriel Carvalho, who tweeted that the film's post-credits scene was enough to sustain another "10 years of media" and to appreciate it, one must "watch the seventh episode of the season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the first episode of What If…?, the whole Loki series, Deadpool 2, the entire final season of X-Men The Animated Series and unbelievably Inhumans."

The tweet is very Poe's Law, but to be clear, Carvalho is trolling. He's basically tweeted the same thing before as a way of parodying hyperbolic reactions to superhero movies and announced beforehand he was going to do a troll post related to Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.

That said, not everyone knew Carvalho was doing a bit, as it's not unreasonable to see an MCU stan list a number of movies one should watch as homework before seeing the next Marvel movie.

Others picked up on Carvalho's joke and turned it into a meme, listing numerous other films one should watch before watching Doctor Strange, if they decided to watch Doctor Strange at all.

Doctor Strange comes out this Thursday on May 6th, and if it's going to be your first MCU movie, power to you, but if this meme is to be believed, unless you've seen every piece of media ever released, it probably won't make sense.

Ironically it's not far off tho, spoilers:……but the centred theme is the darkhold book which does appear in season 4 of agents of shield and season 3 of the runaway, what if? captain carter isn that far off from this reality either, and it's still important to watch wandavision and dr strange

It might be a troll post, but it just goes to the MCU already has the same problem the OG comics have been having for decades: Continuity Lock-Out.

And it only gets worse the further we go in.
