As Sound of Freedom continues to play in theaters to some mild controversy thanks to its fans and star's reported ties to QAnon, it's become a ripe field for trolling and conspiracy theories.

Some on social media have recently pushed conspiracies that the media is trying to "suppress" the film through such devious tactics as mysteriously having malfunctioning air conditioning in the film's theaters.

The latest jokester to get the film's fans – and AMC stockholders, surprisingly – upset is a comedian who goes by the handle @mrnastynodrama on Twitter, who claimed he was an AMC worker who was ordered to dose the sodas of Sound of Freedom seers with "nanobots."

As might be obvious, this tweet is a lie. Twitter's community notes fact checkers have discovered that the yellow vial in the tweet comes from a 2020 Reddit post and the picture of nanobots comes from a 2022 article published by Slashgear.

That didn't stop others from joining in on the prank, as a horde of fellow pranksters chimed in saying they too were movie theater workers who had similar experiences.

It's unclear if any QAnon followers bought the "nanobots" conspiracy, but the tweet did tick off a surprising subset of internet users: AMC meme stock holders.

While it seems most posters didn't buy the nanobots theory, AMC holders believed the tweet was part of a separate conspiracy to devalue AMC on the market.

The tweet echoes a 2016 troll in which a Twitter user claimed to be a post office worker ordered to "rip up ballots" for Donald Trump.

That troll made its way to the right-wing media outrage mill, and while it seems like "nanobots in the soda" won't see the same spread, it's proof that trolling still has the power to impact the real world.

No, it wasn't nanobots. It's the second part of the COVID virus, interacts with it to make the Grey Death.

Hate the Superstonk bullshit with their fanaticism of meme stocks and the other deranged crowd so it's funny seeing both groups get soured on through this
