The grand internet tradition of cranking controversial tip lines has continued this week, as the internet has taken to flooding Texas pro-life group Right to Life's "illegal abortion" hotline with Shrek porn, memes, and other noisy nonsense.

Earlier this week, Texas' SB8 law that makes abortions illegal after six weeks went into effect, the most restrictive anti-abortion law in the country. Many have criticized it, as oftentimes women don't even know they're pregnant at six weeks, but one of the most alarming elements of the law is that citizens are incentivized to report those receiving so-called "illegal" abortions to the government—as in, those getting the abortion could be ordered to pay the person reporting them $10,000.

Right to Life set up ProLifeWhistleblower.com for reporting women supposedly aborting babies, but failed to set up any security measures to ensure the tips were legitimate, which put the internet into action. In late August, TikToker Williamshaughn_ showed the site how he sent the group "a bunch of Shrek porn, and encouraged viewers, "You can do it too! Go to that link."

On Reddit, a post on /r/TwoXChromosomes saying "It would be a shame if we all made bogus tips, making the whole system useless" gained over 82,000 points and hit the front page of Reddit on Monday. One Twitter user announced their intent to flood the site with Goatse.

This is hardly the first time a right-wing campaign has faced endless trolling and meme spam. Last year, several right-wing hashtags were taken over by K-pop stans posting unrelated fancams.

Unfortunately for would-be pranksters, the site has been updated to block users from outside of the United States and those using a VPN to block their location status, but it is the internet, after all. Someone will surely find a way to continue spamming Shrek porn for justice.

BTW the Texas law ENCOURAGES denunciation. Because there is up to a $10,000 bounty for those that got caught. (Paid for by the victim of the denunciation, of course).

this doesn't just include the women aborting. This includes everyone encouraging abortion, as well as those making it possible… not just the doctor, but even the taxi driver would be FULLY guilty under this law.

The Taxi driver would be guilty so long as he was aware of where the woman was going and took her there anyway.

If you got into a Taxi and told the driver "here drive to this address its my ex wifes im gonna steal her stuff" and he drove you there he would be an accomplice to theft

Thats how the law works and has worked for decades deal with it

Real talk…

"Many have criticized it, as oftentimes women don't even know they're pregnant at six weeks…"

How the hell do you sex around, and not notice you haven't had a period in at least a month?

1. Birth control, not 100% effective, can extend to 91 day cycle
2. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
3. Stress
4. Fluctuating Weight
5. Perimenopause (menses may arrive 36 or 48 days apart)
6. A Pituitary Tumor (abnormal cycles in general)
7. Diabetes and Thyroid Disease (early or late)

You don't need more than one partner to get pregananat, and you can get pregnant after only having sex just once if everything aligns

No offense, but this question shows the US sex ed needs work. brthlmw listed many reasons why a woman wouldn't know, but it boils down to a cycle isn't always 28 days apart.

Wish it was common knowledge and didn't take having a sister or girlfriend to know that.

The majority of women don't realize they are pregnant after 6 weeks if the pregnancy was never planned.

Surprise pregnancies are usually noticed maybe 10-12 weeks in or so.

Unless I've misread the news, looks like the site's host pulled the plug. One of the specific uses outside their TOS is collecting personally identifiable information about individuals without their written consent, which is literally the entire point of this site, so it got yoinked.

I was happier knowing Shrek porn wasn't a thing. That said, this is a good use of it.

It’s the internet, it’s to be expected that such horrors lurk out there. Good that we can use them as weapons for justice now.
