Bella Poarch, Addison Rae and Charli D'Amelio, three of the biggest stars and influencers on TikTok, were all briefly banned from the platform yesterday, apparently for violating community guidelines, though fans suspect something more sinister is afoot.

Yesterday, Rae and Poarch both tweeted screenshots of their banned accounts, though neither appeared to take the ban seriously. Poarch tweeted the screenshot with a teary-faced emoji and joked with Dream, who was also banned, about the situation. Rae joked, "I knew I should’ve deleted the twerking video."

The bans were quickly overturned, but the question remains over what exactly happened. TikTok has not given an explanation for the bans, and it is unlikely that the site would intentionally ban some of its biggest stars in one fell swoop. The most likely possibilities are that the bans were either an error on the part of TikTok's moderation algorithm or the result of a hack.

Dexerto suggested the possibility that the bans could be a result of a hack similar to the one pulled off by lospelaosbro a week ago on YouTube in which the hacker broke into several high-profile YouTube accounts to shitpost.

At the time, one theory was that they were able to pull off the hack by hacking into a YouTube staffer's account that had permission to upload to various channels. It's possible a similar hack may have occurred with a TikTok staffer and the hacker could have banned the high-profile influencers from their admin account.

With no explanation, fans are left to speculate on what happened, but as of now, the situation has been rectified.
