Tiffany Gomas, The 'TMFINR' Plane Woman, Breaks Silence With An Apology Video Addressing Her Viral 'Not Real' Breakdown

The internet was ablaze last month when a viral video of a woman's breakdown was documented on a plane, saying that someone in the back was "not real." Since then, the TMFINR woman has been identified as Tiffany Gomas, and this week, she issued an official apology video on X.

Despite being very briefly interviewed by the Daily Mail a few days prior, Gomas hadn't revealed her face yet or commented on the highly publicized debacle.

The posting of her video on Sunday marked the first time she made herself visible and vulnerable to the memes, stating, among many things, that the enjoyed some of the jokes but also that they were "invasive" and "cruel."

Overall, she appeared to remain optimistic and prompted viewers to visit her website "tifannygomas.com" where she was going to promote "positive mental health" and stand up "against cyberbullying."

The video quickly went viral on X on the day of its upload, amassing over 17.1 million views in less than a day.

In the replies and quote retweets, users chimed in with light-hearted jokes, many of which centered on the idea that she was "not real" too, akin to her conspiracy theory adjacent catchphrase "TMFINR."

Gomas' response came shortly after newly revealed bodycam footage, showing her speaking with police at the airport on the day of the incident, spread online. In the clip, Gomas is heard making threats towards the plane and passengers, uttering various phrases most wouldn't dare in an airport like saying that the plane will "blow up."

Due to the bodycam footage, many online questioned why Gomas wasn't arrested on the day of her breakdown.

Regardless of the backlash, however, there seems to be a lot of seemingly ironic adoration of Gomas online from users who championed her public freakout, likening her to a hero or a martyr.

In turn, it appears that Gomas' story will continue to develop as she has launched herself into the public spotlight, especially because she seems to be making a wholesome campaign out of her virality.
