The 'Simpsons' x "Death Note' Crossover Is Real And Has Everyone Excited
The annual tradition of The Simpsons having a Treehouse of Horror themed episode for the Spooktober season is continuing to be upheld, but this time with a certain twist to it. In this year's episode, there's a crossover taking place between The Simpsons and Death Note, with Simpsons characters being made into characters from Death Note as Lisa ends up in the starring role as the one who receives it. When the trailer came out, many were surprised at the quality of it, before it was found out that the original Death Note animation team was the one who is behind the animation of the episode itself.
Reactions from people were all in unison, with praise for the collab, the design of the characters, and most importantly, how they view it as leagues better than the Netflix live action adaptation. One thing that continues to be a sticking point amongst the crowd, however, is that the usually Yellow characters are now in a different color palette, throwing off the senses to a degree as some sort of Uncanny Valley.

Why Lisa though? I thought the comic version with Bart getting the death note was perfect.

Will Bart appear at all?
ConspiracyNut
That comic was premium fanart, but Lisa is the closest equivalent to Light that Springfield has.
ConspiracyNut
Light had a very forgettable sister, so he might appear at dinner for 1 scene. What I'm really wondering is if Homer or Wiggum are going to be the Chief Yagami parallel.

I legitimately couldn't believe that this was real. I thought this was some kind of insane fan project at first.

Spongebob did it already

I might actually watch the Simpsons for the first time in 15 years.

I've heard from some sources that the show in general has actually seen a pretty substantial bump in quality in the recent season. One big thing that's been noted is "jerkass Homer" has finally been retired in favor of Homer actually being portrayed as a caring father, and in general it appears the plots and character interactions are more in line with the show's golden years. I haven't seen the recent season myself, but I'm certainly interested in checking it out eventually.
