The Kardashians Are Working Tirelessly To Scrub A Perfectly Normal Photo Of Khloé From The Web

A bizarre social media controversy has brewed over a perfectly normal, flattering photo of Khloé Kardashian in a leopard-print bikini after the Kardashians have worked to scrub it from the web.

One might not immediately see anything particularly damaging to the Kardashian brand in the picture. In the photo, Khloé is smiling, looking happy, healthy and fit. The issue seems to be that it was posted without the airbrushing and filters that are staples of the Kardashians' social media presence. Tweets sharing the picture—often in praise of Khloé's natural look in comparison to usual Kardashian social media pictures—have been deleted from the internet due to DMCA claims.

According to a friend of the Kardashians Tracy Romulus, "The color edited photo was taken of Khloé during a private family gathering and posted to social media without permission by mistake by an assistant."

"Khloé looks beautiful but it is within the right of the copyright owner to not want an image not intended to be published taken down," he went on to add.

The situation stoked ire from social media users who feel the Kardashians are at the center of social media promoting unhealthy body images. It also struck social media users as hypocritical, as Khloé's brand Good American positions itself as a label representing body acceptance.

Khloé addressed the controversy in an Instagram post where she posted her "unedited" self and released a statement.

"It’s almost unbearable trying to live up to the impossible standards that the public have all set for me," Khloé said. "For over a decade now in photos, every single flaw and imperfection has been micro-analysed and made fun of to the smallest detail and I am reminded of them every day by the world."

"I love a good filter, good lighting and an edit here and there… to present myself to the world the way I want to be seen, and it’s exactly what I will continue to do unapologetically," she ended her statement. "My body, my image and how I choose to look and what I want to share is my choice."

"It’s not for anyone to decide or judge what is acceptable or not anymore."

Still, people were not completely sympathetic to Khloé's statement, considering that the impossible standards she mentions are arguably self-imposed by her family.
