Sydney Sweeney's 'Hot Ones' Appearance Inspires Frenzy And Devotion Online
Earlier today, actress Sydney Sweeney appeared on the YouTube web series Hot Ones, a show in which celebrities try increasingly spicy chicken wings, prompting a flood of virality on social media.
Many online, ahead of this event, behaved very normally about the entire thing — or, perhaps more accurately, they did not behave normally at all.
Memes about Sweeney, a notable actress who's garnered increasing attention over the last few years thanks to her roles in hit shows such as Euphoria, often referenced the enthusiastic attitude with which certain people with certain intentions would approach her appearance on Hot Ones.
During the program itself, Sweeney started extremely confident, claiming the wings weren't even very hot. However, towards the end of the video, she started to suffer the consequences of the heat after trying the infamous sauce known as the "Da Bomb."
The show has spawned many memeworthy moments in the past with appearances by figures like Gordon Ramsay and Shaquille O'Neal, among others.
After its release, many viewers joked about the level and intensity of attention paid to Sweeney's appearance on the show.
The release of the Hot Ones episode appeared to be timed with the release of her new film, Madame Web, on February 14th and a trailer for a new movie starring Sweeney called "The Nun" (presumably referring to Immaculate).
