The show much of the world went crazy for during an entire month in 2021, survival drama hit Squid Game will be getting a second season, with the script already in the works.

On Sunday, the streaming platform Netflix released a teaser trailer announcing season two of the South Korean survival drama Squid Game, its most successful show to date.

In October 2021, Squid Game achieved global popularity as viewers all over the world watched 456 people participate in deadly versions of children's games to win a hefty prize.

"It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life," Hwang Dong-hyuk, director and writer of the series, wrote. "But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever."

In the second season, Seong Gi-Hun (the winner of last year's games) will return, as will the Front Man, and a new yet unrevealed character.

On Twitter, people have been replying with Squid Game memes and rooting for their favorite characters from season one to make an appearance.

YouTuber MrBeast hinted that he might recreate season two challenges in real life as well.
