The Spider-verse Is Expanding In An Upcoming "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" Sequel
The best Spider-Man movie in 15 years, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse is officially getting a sequel. In a surprise announcement earlier this week, the official Twitter account to the Academy Award-winning animated superhero film announced a sequel would swing into theaters on April 8th, 2022.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse became a critical and commercial success late last year, winning an Oscar for best animated film and grossing more than $375 million at the worldwide box office.

Fans have already begun speculating as to which incarnation of everyone's favorite webhead would be joining the team. Would Tobey or Tom finally make their long-rumored and fan-desired cameos?
Those remain unconfirmed. However, we did get a little tidbit from the film's co-writer and executive producer Phil Lord, who confirmed that the Spider-Man featured on the late-70s Japanese television series has, indeed, been designed.
He’s designed!

Fans of the show and his memes are probably already familiar with this Spider-Man and his alter ego motocross racer Takuya Yamashiro. However, the character is probably just as well known now for the inexplicable and bizarre clips of Spidey fighting robots that have been floating around YouTube for years.
What kind of energy will he bring to the alrighty tangled universe of the series? If it's anything like the gang from the first movie, probably the kind of energy to make Miles Morales life more difficult. Consider our spidey-sense tingling.
