Miles Morales, a major character in the Spider-Man universe for decades, is famously of African-American and Puerto Rican descent, which is why it confused players of Marvel's newly released video game Spider-Man 2 that a Cuban flag was hanging in his apartment.

This was, in fact, a mistake on Insomniac Games' part, as it appears that at some point in the development process of the game, the company grabbed the wrong Latin American country's flag, mistakenly adorning Miles' apartment with the Cuban flag instead of the Puerto Rican one.

Director James Stevenson promised a fix was coming after a Twitter user noticed the error and word of it spread online.

The flags of Cuba and Puerto Rico are fairly similar, as the overall design is nearly identical but the colors fill different aspects of the flag (Puerto Rican flag shown below).

While this at least helped some people understand why the error occurred, several felt it was still an unforgivable and easily avoidable error on the part of Insomniac Games that a simple Google search would have avoided. Either that, or they found it pretty funny.

"Flaggate" has been a relatively minor blip in what's otherwise been a largely glowing launch for Spider-Man 2, which currently holds a score of 90 on Metacritic.
