The internet is full of hyperbolic discussions of Adolf Hitler, meaning it's rare to find a case where discourse about Hitler is actually quite warranted. Kanye West, seemingly set on being the exception that proves every internet axiom, is in the news yet again, this time for purportedly being a fan of Adolf Hitler.

Yesterday, CNN reported that the rapper, currently on a tour of alienating his friends, family, and business partners with rampant antisemitism, had a history of admiring the man largely considered modern history's greatest monster.

A business executive who worked with West told the publication, "He would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people." Four sources also told CNN that West wanted his 2018 album Ye to be called Hitler, but for reasons unknown, that plan was scrapped.

The report continued to foster ill will toward the once-beloved rapper on social media, as many people felt there was no way back from literally praising Hitler.

Kanye appears to be maintaining a brave face amid the recent wave of controversy, implying in an Instagram post yesterday that his recent wave of anti-semitic comments was "love speech" and even though he "lost $2 billion in a day," he's still standing strong.

Still, it's difficult to imagine how the rapper will recover from being perceived by many as the closest "Literally Hitler" the internet's seen in some time.

at this point i'm angry at whoever is working with kanye at this point. this dude obviously needs some kind of intervention and needs to be put on meds. they cant just let him loose and say this shit with zero consequences. I mean, I'm aware that some people are naturally assholes but kanye himself tried to defend his behavior in the past by saying he had issues. either he's lying out his ass to justify his shitty behavior and needs to be called out for it, or he needs serious help.

He's correct though. Saying that Hitler lead to a prosperous Germany is not the same as condoning all of Hiter's actions. At the time his country was thriving. Ya know, as long as you were the right kind of German.

Sure, if by "prosperous" you mean "police state".

The terms aren't mutually exclusive, like a quality product with a grossly inflated price-tag.

Hitler led to Germany getting flattened from two sides and then cut into two different countries for the next 45 years. That's not really a great outcome.
