Earlier today, the Slim Jim Twitter account made a tweet calling on the "Doge Army" to help them gain over 10,000 followers in a day in an effort to reach their lofty goal of 169,420 followers by today's date, 6/9.

On May 30th, the Slim Jim Twitter account, a significantly popular brand Twitter account that's known for its often successful mixture of dank memes and advertising, set the goal of reaching 169,420 followers by June 9th, or 6/9, a string of numbers consisting of both 69 and 420, two popular numbers in meme culture in reference to a sex position and stoner culture respectively. Slim Jim has tweeted a number of updates regarding the goal over the past week, encouraging their followers to spread the word and help them climb the ranks to the ultimate meme number on the ultimate meme date.

Yes, the whole thing is immature, but it's inarguably on-brand for Slim Jim, an account that's made countless ironic jokes about the numbers before. They've even gone so far as to hold a running game on their platform where they put "hidden 69's" in their posts for users to find.

Well, 6/9 has arrived, and unfortunately, Slim Jim is still over 10,000 followers short of their goal, with 156,800 followers as of this afternoon. Refusing to give up, the company has made a number of tweets today calling on the "Doge Army" to help them out, assumedly referring to the same people who skyrocketed Dogecoin into a notable cryptocurrency.

Many members of the "Doge Army" have answered the call under the hashtag "#DogeArmy," but with under 10 hours left in the day, the chances of Slim Jim reaching their hilarious goal seem slim. If you feel so inclined, go support them in their efforts and give Slim Jim a follow. They don't exactly need it, but they really, really want it.
