(Twitter)

Last year, America suffered through a Murder Hornet panic that ultimately seemed to pan out without much fanfare. On Tuesday, Twitter users were panicked about another potential hornet invasion, this time from the "Asian Magumbo Hornet," which, let's face it, is a bee with massive cans.

The hoax pulled off by Twitter user @thegoryend led to a series of jokes across social media, as people were prepared to welcome the large-breasted queen with open arms.

However, the jugged-hornet invasion is not to be. The "Asian Magumbo Hornet" is a photoshop created in 2018 by Redditor simulatedmind. At the time, his post got just one point on Reddit, because the world simply wasn't ready to embrace the Asian Dohoobnhonkero Hornet.

Isn't there an actual species of invasive hornet though?

From Japan, yes. They break into beehives and snip off as many heads as they can to reach the larva, but Japanese bees have learned to dog-pile them and vibrate their wings in unison to roast the hornets alive.
