(Rudy Giuliani on "Masked Singer" / Consequence.net)

When last we checked on former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, he was actively melting while trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Now, he's competing on reality television singing competition shows.

Late yesterday, Deadline reported that Giuliani was unveiled on an episode of The Masked Singer, causing judges Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong to immediately walk off the set in protest. Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained on set to banter with Giuliani.

The Masked Singer has played with politics before, once having former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin appear on the show, but Giuliani is more of an immediate lightning rod of controversy for his efforts to overturn the election and his alleged role in the January 6th storming of the U.S. capitol. Giuliani notably called for a "trial by combat" in a speech to Trump supporters before the riot and has been identified by several politicians as one of the key instigators to the dark day in American history. In June last year, he was also stripped of his law license.

Though the episode has yet to air, the very fact Giuliani was getting soft publicity by appearing on The Masked Singer angered social media, who were reminded of when Sean Spicer appeared on Dancing With The Stars.

The episode should air within the month — if Masked Singer goes ahead with airing what will surely generate a firestorm of additional controversy. One wonders if it can crack the top five of Giuliani disasters.

Rudy should be a man of his word and declare trial by combat against the other contestants and then get a group of goons to Minecraft the other masked singers.

I don't have cable or even own a TV, how does this show work?

They get a bunch of famous people, dress them up in costumes, and then you're supposed to guess who the singer is based on their voice and some clues they provide. Someone is voted off at the end of each episode and upon being voted off they take off the mask to reveal themselves. The judges do not know who they're listening to until that moment so Rudy had to be a pretty nasty surprise.

Good on Thicke and Jeong for going "fuck this shit" and walking off.

Taking one look at this guy and then reading about him is proof that sometimes you CAN judge a book by its cover. Dude looks just as sleazy as he acts.

If the book is "Mein Kampf", the cover is all you need to judge it by.

Disgrace laundering. A disturbingly accurate take. Glad the judges found it as vile as the rest.
