(Batman Personality meme / Twitter)

As a component of human psychology, we take in outside stimuli, analyze it against our personal goals, morals and values, and then decide on how to act or adapt to them. For a number of men online, this is often done in the form of Wow, This Is Literally Me, where a new personality style will be downloaded to the brain from whatever powerful, mysterious and brooding male character was in the most recent movie seen.

This has been done before with K from Blade Runner 2049, Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, Luke Glanton from The Place Beyond the Pines, Driver from Drive, Tyler Durden from Fight Club and Alex DeLarge from Clockwork Orange. Recently, however, with the Babe Please Stop format, it's become apparent that Joker from Joker, Paul Atreides from Dune and now Batman from The Batman can be added to the list.

After The Batman released in theaters on March 4th over the weekend, social media was quickly taken over by people posting about how the new personality just dropped with an influx of memes about Robert Pattinson's portrayal of the classic DC Comics character.

This is, of course, nothing new since the trend has been prevalent for many years and has also been memed for a long time as well. Either way, it seems Pattinson's initial breakout film portraying such a beloved character is being warmly received online despite woes from many last year.

Fortunately (spoilers) the moral of this movie is that being a dark edgy vengeful person is weak and pointless if you don't help others as well. Hilariously, this is actually a good version of "not fighting what we hate but saving what we love" from The Last Jedi.
