Pat Robertson, longtime fundamentalist Christian television personality known for espousing anti-LGBTQ views, has died at the age of 93.

Robertson had an outsized influence on Republican politics and was central to the now-standard practice of courting Christian evangelicals. In his later years, he was known for hosting the Christian talk show The 700 Club and for regularly turning up in the headlines for blaming various social ills on America's "godlessness. At different times he tied natural disasters to America's tolerance of homosexuality and the teaching of evolution.

News of his death did not draw widespread sympathy from many on social media, as terms like "RIP Bozo" and "Rest In Hell" trended on Twitter in the wake of his passing today.

Meanwhile, some on social media appear to still await the death of another contentious figure, Henry Kissinger, whose name also trended on Twitter in relation to the Robertson news.

Kissinger, 100 years old, was the former Secretary of State under Richard Nixon and helped shape American foreign policy, which has been accused of propping up dictators in South America over democratically elected, more left-leaning leaders.

Any time a major celebrity dies, social media is reminded that Kissinger still lives, much to the apparent chagrin of many.

While a notable amount of the internet seems celebratory in the wake of Robertson's death, others have also taken it as a reminder to live one's life such that "RIP Bozo" and "Rest In Hell" aren't the things that trend upon your death.

Dude screwed Disney out of a completely controlled channel for years, and could never be shaken off by them until he died.

Based.

Dude was responsible for poisoning the minds of a lot of Christians into being hateful rather than loving, he certainly gets no sympathy from me.

And what are you on about? I dislike people based on things like personality and their words and actions rather than stuff not under their control like race, sexuality, and gender identity. I try my best to be a good person but also acknowledge I am flawed.

Also, nine year old account that only began posting comments in the last year?

It feels like you're trying to pull a "throwing someone's words back at them" gotcha, tonally, but the words you're throwing aren't words that have been used by the person you're throwing them at, or related to the situation.

The first time I heard about him was from watching clips of him on the drunken peasants podcast back in the day.
