According to rapper Pusha T, back in 2003 his brother and he created the iconic jingle for McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It," which has been prominently featured in their marketing campaigns for over a decade and a half. Despite the success of the marketing jingle and slogan, however, Pusha T claims that they were barely compensated, which is what ultimately led to him creating a diss track against the brand as part of a promotion with Arby's.

With the release of the diss track, fans understandably started pouring over it as not just another piece of Pusha T music, but something with some emotional investment and purpose put to it — getting even with McDonald's. The reaction from his fans online was largely positive, which is especially crucial to the success of the diss track.

A large part of the success that this diss track is already having comes from Pusha T's proven success in prior fast-food marketing. His previous diss track of Drake, which fans still point to as the "coldest thing ever made," and his personal vendetta putting a chip on his shoulder, which people often respect.

Out of all the lyrics in the song, the one that stuck out the most to fans was his overt callout to "coke," said in the long-form as "cocaine" in the song, which excited social media that an official diss track made for a major food brand like Arby's has a line about cocaine in it.
