As Health Care Bill Collapses, Trump Plays With a Shiny Firetruck
"He was playing with a firetruck and trying on a cowboy hat as the bill was collapsing and he had no clue."
That quote, given to CNN reporter Jeff Zeleny, sums up the political events of July 17th, 2017.
Yesterday, President Trump jumped in a big red firetruck outside the White House while celebrating "Made in America" week. Later that day, two Republican Senators backed out of supporting the American Health Care Act (AHCA), the party's second major effort to repeal and replace Obamacare, effectively killing the bill. The Republicans needed a simple majority of 50 votes to pass the AHCA.
"Where's the fire? I'll put it out!" the President joked to Vice President Mike Pence while pretending to be on a high speed chase to put out a fire in the truck's driver's seat.
The moment eerily echoes the events of March 23rd, when Trump jumped in another big truck as the vote on the AHCA was postponed in the House of Representatives, also due to lack of consensus within the Republican party.
The images of Trump looking giddy in the truck were met with a fine cocktail of punchlines and face palms from Americans on Twitter, with many simultaneously amused and embarrassed by the sight of their President with a giddy smile like a giant toddler around a shiny fancy toy.
Obviously this is true. But also the only good thing about Trump is that he always does these vroom faces in trucks. https://t.co/dO53SaaQQj

Sadly, Trump's all-out push for Senate bill – including 2 days at a golf tournament & pretending to drive a fire truck – came up just short pic.twitter.com/6flQrH4W58

And not surprisingly, in response to the news of yet another setback in Congress, President Trump refused to take any blame for the debacle surrounding the repeal of Obamacare at the Capitol, followed by a tweet that openly called for its repeal without a replacement in place, a move that could leave 32 million Americans without insurance and cause premiums to go up 100%, according to Conneticut Senator Chris Murphy. One wonders how such a move would affect the firefighters nationwide.

On a serious Note… who wouldn't play with a damn fire truck. Its a man's wet dream. Those jerks are just jealous because they can't do that without the firemen getting mad

deja vu i've seen in this meme before
Winday, Furries Pirate
This is the same guy who like to build wall and have two scoops of ice cream for dessert. CNN love to paint Trump as a big baby didn't they?
Jimmy 3, People 0
You can't paint someone as a man-child if they're already a fucking man-child.
colombianguy
THIS.
I've noticed that a lot of Trump's caricatures/parodies aren't that funny because the man is already a goddamn caricature. He's unmemeable, for he is a meme.

"hey guys where's the fire? I'll put it out"
"you mean the garbage fire of your healthcare bill"
"lol never mind"

Instead of making a new meme they've started rehashing an old one. Unacceptable, have a horrible day.
Agent_Dmitry
I'm surprised we haven't had a story covering whether Trump wipes his ass sitting or standing up. This shit is not even getting old, it's just old.
I hope I'm not the only one thinking this when I say that KYM should just keep articles like this unbiased and impartial. If you have your own political opinions, that's completely fine, but do it on your own time. Better yet, actually cover important events and not turn everything that Trump does into a meme. They get stale real quick and we end up forgetting about it once another forgettable Trump meme gets posted.
If you have criticisms against Trump, that's acceptable as well. I just think a website for memes should at least be impartial while reporting on these events.
Drew
"Keep Memes non-partisan!" is… certainly a take.
Agent_Dmitry
Everything doesn't need to be about politics, though. There's a time and place for it of course, it's just I don't think KYM should take a side on what's being reported on.
Would you rather read an article that is biased in favor of who their reporting on, or an objective article that is impartial and allows us to form our own opinions about the issue at hand?
Agent_Dmitry
Oh, and I'm not saying memes themselves should be non-partisan, there's always going to be political memes. All I want is KYM to just take an impartial position on these memes.

Do we really need a fucking front page of everything Trump does?
That was getting old months ago, now this is just a weird combination of pettiness and saltiness…. Man, at least reserve it for something relevant, this is a meme site after all.
