The popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile has announced that its next collaboration will be with the anime JuJutsu Kaisen.

While common for mobile games to collaborate with an anime series, it's not too common for a first-person shooter that has been touted as a realistic take on the genre to collaborate with an anime.

Something that many fans noted was that the official social media page for PUBG Mobile made note that the collaboration event will not be available in Japan — despite being advertised as "global."

This struck everyone as odd, as the show itself is not only created in Japan but has many sites and folklore that take direct inspiration from Japan. While there were many reasons why this could be, a prevailing theory among fans is that it has to do with PUBG being created by Tencent, a Chinese company, and the game not being very popular within Japan itself.

Fans of the series were quick to talk about their favorite characters and how they would love to see representation in the game, as well as what type of gameplay could be seen by the characters themselves appearing.
