(GoFundMe / Veronica Shaw)

The saga of Pink Sauce is, somehow, still ongoing.

It's been over a year since Chef Pii, aka Veronica Shaw, became the infamous talk of TikTok with a mysterious pink condiment that was of questionable health safety, and in that time, she has found success and apparently now lost it.

On August 16th, Veronica Shaw launched a GoFundMe in which she alleged that Dave's Gourmet, the company she partnered with to help get Pink Sauce on actual retail shelves, is "trying to take everything away from" her. She wrote:

They lied to me. They are not paying me and are not being transparent about records. I have tried on multiple occasions to try and come to one accord with them but they refuse to reimburse me for marketing expenses that I spent my own funds towards. I have been silenced and financially sabotaged.

Shaw states that she is broke, facing an eviction and is unable to provide for her kids. She alleges that Dave's Gourmet is refusing to pay her her owed royalties.

Dave's Gourmet has denied the accusations laid out by Shaw. In a statement to The Grio, representatives stated it has adhered to the terms of their agreement with Shaw and that it "offered to pay for Ms. Shaw’s lawyer to go over the terms of the agreement and how it relates to the payments that were made to Ms. Shaw."

"She indicated that she’s open to an amicable resolution of the dispute and the parties are in discussions," the statement continued.

In a separate statement to Dexerto, Dave's Gourmet said it had paid all of the $120,000 it owed to Shaw at the time of writing and would continue to make payments to her.

While the GoFundMe has raised $1,000 of its $100,000 goal in nearly nine days, many of the donations have come with snide, insulting messages to Shaw.

It is unclear what brought about the hard times for Shaw or whether Dave's Gourmet is being truthful in its denial of her accusation that the company is not paying her royalties.

Can we at least agree that it's depressing how many people are willing to pay five American dollars to an internet rando they hate for the privilege of telling said rando that they hate them?

I don't give two shits about Pink Sauce Lady or whatever, but when you get that mad at an internet rando, it's time to put down your phone for a while and go outside.

My thoughts, girl thought she hit the jackpot and went on a spending spree for whatever she could shove into her Instagram for videos (hence her "marketing costs"). The initial 120k she got was probably gone in a month, and the reason Dave's isn't paying royalties is because it requires the sauce in question to be sold.

It was a gimmick product based on a social media fad. Was she thinking that Pink Sauce would rule store shelves forever?

Given the size of the ego she's willing to show the public, yes, though I actually wonder if Dave's is even moving the initial batch off shelves.
