Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams is not exactly known for being the kindest presence on television, but a recent segment from her show has left social media users' jaws on the floor.

Before we get into it, I highly encourage you to watch the clip from Wednesday's show, shared by Twitter user @AlexTMcNair, for yourself:

If you guessed the kicker of this segment, power to you.

The clip starts out with Wendy dismissively showing a picture of TikTok star Swayv. "I have no idea who this person is … neither does one person in this building," she says, before asking the audience to clap if they knew who Swayv was. She asks other cast members if they know who he is before incredulously noting that he "has more followers" than her. One producer consoles her by pointing out Wendy has more followers on Instagram, but that does little to quell Williams' annoyance at the young man. After one last dismissive look at his picture, Williams turns to the audience and gets to the point of all the jokey preamble.

"He's 19, and he was murdered Monday morning," she says to gasps from the audience.

Matima “Swavy” Miller died on July 5th from a fatal gunshot wound. He had amassed over 2.3 million followers on TikTok with comedy skits and dances, and his death was mourned by both his friends and fans on social media after his passing.

Williams' treatment of the news of his death baffled and angered social media users, who took strong issue with the way Williams seemed to visibly express annoyance at his very being before telling the audience about his passing.

Williams has yet to address the backlash from the segment.
