Mini Teamed Up With The Pokemon Company To Create A Gamer Car, Confusing Many And Sparking Memes

Virtual attendees to this year's Gamescom livestream were given some never-before-seen looks at various new products coming into the world of gaming. From trailers for upcoming games to announcements of much-anticipated fan-favorite series getting continuations, the two-hour event was chugging along much to the delight of gamers everywhere.

That, however, was brought to a grinding halt when a little over halfway through the mood shifted as the next thing being shown off wasn't a game but rather a car. The electric concept car (meaning not in production) was created by Mini and boasts console connectivity, as well as having some Pokemon themed flourishes, largely confusing people who saw it.

Unsurprisingly, many took to social media to post their initial thoughts on the bewildering concept car as the "Pokemon Car" continued trending online throughout the afternoon.

After the initial shock of the novelty wore off, it was time to react and meme. While there were certainly a lot of reactions that were negative towards the car, which involved either violent threats against it and its drivers or memes calling out how absolutely wacky the car was, there were some positive reactions from people who were glad to see something fresh and exciting happening.
