Melania Trump Emerges 47 Days Before Election To Defend Her History As A Nude Model And Promote Her Book
Former First Lady Melania Trump, who has played a noticeably smaller role in her husband's 2024 Presidential campaign compared to his 2016 and 2020 campaigns, has emerged on social media with a video comparing her nude body to the Statue of David and promoting her book.
In the clip, Melania discusses the backlash she's received for her history of nude modeling, noting that many classic art pieces from human history depict the nude human form. It does not mention her husband or his campaign to win the 2024 United States Presidential Election.
The video, and particularly its omission of any content relevant to the upcoming election, stuck out to many on social media, considering Melania's importance as a former First Lady with the potential to have the role a second time.
Melania Trump has been largely absent from Donald Trump's 2024 campaign — for example, she only appeared on the final day of the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) and did not give a speech (notably, the convention was only days after the much-covered assassination attempt on Trump's life).
Her absence from the public eye has become the subject of national media coverage, as journalists speculate about the uncharacteristic lack of public appearances from the spouse of a Presidential candidate.
She has been posting more on Twitter / X in the past 10 days as she's started a run of video posts that include a conspiratorial video about the July assassination attempt on her husband and a video rallying against Trump's confidential documents indictment.
Still, the video posted today, which is solely in promotion of her upcoming memoir, caught the most attention, precisely because it fed into the narrative from many that Melania is not interested in First Lady duties or working to elect her husband. It also comes at a time when Donald Trump is the subject of saucy rumors that he's allegedly having an affair with far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer.
However, while it may seem odd that Melania has posted a politics-free advertisement for something she's selling so close to the election, her husband recently did the same.
Just three weeks ago, he used his Truth Social account to shill Trump-themed NFTs.
