Matt Gaetz Paid For Sex With Underage Girl, Says Wingman
The trouble for controversial conservative Florida Congressman has grown exponentially worse after The Daily Beast reported that his friend Joel Greenberg, a local Florida official federally indicted on multiple charges including sex trafficking, confessed to Gaetz' involvement in his scheme and said Gaetz paid for sex with a minor.
"On more than one occasion, this individual (the minor) was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District and myself," reads Greenberg's confession. "From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman."
Greenberg wrote the confession shortly after attempting to get embattled conservative lobbyist Roger Stone to intervene on his behalf and convince then-President Trump to pardon him before Trump left office. The confession was necessary to make the pardon happen. Stone and Greenberg were communicating via Signal, and Stone had his messages set to disappear, but Greenberg screenshotted the messages before they did.
"My lawyers that I fired, know the whole story about MG’s (Gaetz') involvement," wrote Greenberg to Stone. "They know he paid me to pay the girls and that he and I both had sex with the girl who was underage." Greenberg then offered to pay Stone $250,000.
"If I get you $250k in Bitcoin would that help or is this not a financial matter," Greenberg wrote to Stone, according to the Daily Beast's reporting of the messages.
Stone replied, "I understand all of this and have taken it into consideration. I will know more in the next 24 hours I cannot push too hard because of the nonsense surrounding pardons. I hope you are prepared to wire me $250,000 because I am feeling confident," Stone wrote.
The Daily Beast published screenshots of the texts between Stone and Greenberg in which they were discussing Matt Gaetz and the possibility of monetary exchange for Stone's help.
Last month, the New York Times reported that Gaetz was being investigated by the Department of Justice for his involvement with Greenberg, with an eye-catching allegation of paying for sex with a minor. Three weeks ago, The Daily Beast found payments in Gaetz' Venmo history to Greenberg asking him to "hit up" the girl in question after her 18th birthday.
Gaetz has vehemently denied the allegations and has yet to be federally charged, though the evidence against him continues to pile up and becomes publically available.
