Ludwig Ahgren, the streamer who broke Twitch's record for most subscribers after a 31-day "subathon" stream, has left Twitch behind for YouTube Gaming. The move was announced by Ryan Watt, head of YouTube Gaming, in a tweet yesterday, and Ahgren's first YouTube Gaming stream is slated for today.

Ahgren made the announcement in a sketch in which he drives a purple car (representing Twitch) that later explodes, prompting him to take a red car (YouTube Gaming) home. As he drives off, he makes a crack about not getting into trouble for playing music "in this car." This may be a reference to recent copyright issues that have hit streamers who play music during their streams via DMCA takedowns.

Ahgren already has over 2.1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, giving him a solid foundation as he moves over there exclusively. Details of the deal between Ahgren and YouTube have not been disclosed, but one imagines Ahgren's signing comes with serious cash, though this is merely speculation online. He is one of the biggest streamers signed exclusively to YouTube Gaming, alongside streamers such as DrLupo and TimTheTatman.
