Logan Paul Purportedly Buys Private Plane As 'CryptoZoo' Lawsuit Defendants Seek $1.8 Million
Logan Paul recently discussed purchasing a private plane on his podcast ImPaulsive, which rankled investors into his former cryptocurrency game project, CryptoZoo, who are still waiting on the $1.8 million of refunds Paul himself promised months ago.
In February, investors in CryptoZoo filed a lawsuit seeking a return on their millions' worth of investments, alleging Paul basically took their money and never intended to support a fully functioning cryptocurrency game. Paul, his personal assistant Danielle Strobel, his manager Jeffrey Levin and three men attached to the project, Eduardo Ibanez, Jake Greenbaum and Ben Roth, are all named in the lawsuit.
That lawsuit is now headed to mediation, as lawyers for the plaintiffs and defendants agreed to file a 90-day stay on the case as they work to resolve claims against Paul and his associates.
CryptoZoo launched in 2021 but was immediately thought to be a scam by many, as "players" soon noticed they couldn't cash out after increasing their investments through hybrid animal JPGs. In January 2023, after a documentary by YouTuber Coffeezilla attempted to expose the alleged shady business practices behind CryptoZoo, Paul promised members of the CryptoZoo Discord that he would refund $1.8 million of investments into the game. He called this a "priority."
Investors – or at least, those following the case online – took Paul's purported purchase of a private jet as a slap in the face, but Paul alleges that he was scammed too. He claims his former lead developer scammed him and he ended up making no money from the project.
In Coffeezilla's documentary about CryptoZoo, he interviewed that developer, who claimed his team was never paid for their work developing the game, so he refused to give Logan Paul the code until they were.
