Lindsay Lohan Drinks 'Pilk,' A Meme Mixture Of Pepsi And Milk, In New Pepsi Ads

Pepsi is officially trying to make pilk (a mixture of milk and Pepsi) a thing after publishing a series of advertisements featuring actress Lindsay Lohan enjoying a refreshing glass of the oft-memed beverage.

The viral marketing ads were posted to the official Pepsi Instagram page earlier today. In the first ad, Lohan comes downstairs on Christmas day to find a glass of pilk mixed by Santa on the table. She drinks it and exclaims, "That's one dirty soda, Santa."

In the second ad, Lohan, dressed in a Santa Claus-inspired outfit, mixes the two drinks herself and proudly proclaims, "Pepsi and milk … Pilk!" The ads rapidly gained thousands of likes and views in just their first six hours online.

Milk and Pepsi were first popularly mixed in the show Laverne and Shirley, which aired between 1976 and 1983. The mixture didn't become widely known as "pilk" until July 2020 when Twitter user @scubadivingzoo posted an image of a glass of pilk, writing, "Y'all want a glass of pilk."

From there, the image spread across the web and started to inspire further memes about the drink. Some people joke about how bad it must taste, while others, including content creators who have tried it for themselves, find it surprisingly delicious.

The new Lindsay Lohan commercials have sparked increased interest in pilk online. Some of those already familiar with the memes are in disbelief that Pepsi has decided to make pilk an official and encouraged thing. Others are just taking the opportunity to whip out their old pilk memes now that they're relevant again, with one user calling this a "certified pilk moment."
