Lil Uzi Vert Now Using They/Them Pronouns Has Inspired Memes And Reactions
Rapper and celebrity Lil Uzi Vert has apparently embraced nonbinary They/Them pronouns in a reveal on Instagram via a bio change. The LGBTQ+ update from the rapper came as a surprise to many while others weren't surprised at all.
As stated, Lil Uzi didn't necessarily announce their new pronouns. Instead, social media news outlet RapTV highlighted their Instagram bio changing in a two-tweet thread posted over the weekend.
Via replies and quote retweets, Twitter users chimed in on the update. Memes related to nonbinary people appeared to be the dominant reaction, including templates such as They Said, They/Them Pussy and They/Them Pronouns Are Confusing.
A lot of the discussion centered on people confused by Uzi's decision and nonbinary people in general. In turn, others reacted to these aggressors, labeling them as judgemental or idiotic. Granted, a majority of the "hate" appeared to be ironic, however, earnest aggression was equally present.
Not call them by ''him'' anymore

As their career moves forward, Uzi will surely play a part in social media and memes as they always have. From It's My Third Day Out Here to Howard the Alien, memes using Uzi will almost surely not die out anytime soon.

Is it wrong to think people do this shit for attention and literally nothing else?

Context would be needed in each case. I tend to trust it's not just for the attention, especially considering the KIND of attention they will draw.

Are you saying the person whom implanted a friggin' gemstone on their forehead, as if they were MCU Vision, is actually an attention whore?!
I don't believe it! 😮

I'm sure some people genuinely believe in all this, though whether their beliefs are based on any solid foundation is another question – albeit one that usually isn't worth the damage you get from asking in most mainstream online spaces.
Anyone with a modicum of celebrity to their name, though, it's fair game to assume they're just doing it for attention. Not like it matters to them what we nobodies think, so think away.
