Lil Tay Death Hoax Story Grows Increasingly Bizarre After Her Instagram Account Lays Blame On Lil Tay's Father, Who Fires Back With Threat Of Lawsuit

The Lil Tay Death Hoax that baffled the internet last month has somehow gotten messier and more bizarre after the former child rap star's Instagram account accused her father, Christopher Hope, of orchestrating the hoax and being "abusive, racist, misogynistic" and "woman beating."

Normally, this would read as Lil Tay accusing her father of orchestrating the hoax and various prejudices and abuses, but the question at the center of this entire saga is, exactly who has control of the former child star's Instagram account?

In dispelling the death hoax rumor last month, Tay's brother, Jason Tian (who was also rumored to have died in the hoax), purportedly made a new account explaining that neither he nor Lil Tay (real name Tay Tian) died, nor do they have access to the Lil Tay Instagram account and its 4.5 million followers.

TMZ confirmed the hoax with Lil Tay shortly after, who said its Instagram was "compromised by a third party."

However, some in Lil Tay's circle, including her former manager, have cast doubt on claims the account is hacked.

Following the update from the Instagram account yesterday accusing Christopher Hope of orchestrating the hoax, Hope spoke to TMZ and said the statement was false and defamatory:

"The person who is responsible for that Instagram post, as well as anyone repeating the completely false and libelous accusation within it, are virtually certain to become defendants in a defamation lawsuit."

Hope has been consistently painted as the villain in the Lil Tay saga. In April 2021, Jason Tian organized a GoFundMe accusing Hope of being abusive, absentee and fighting to control Lil Tay's career. At the time, Hope denied the allegations.

At the moment, all that is known is that someone, who might be Lil Tay or an unknown third party, is accusing Chris Hope of orchestrating the death hoax for an unknown reason, and it's also unknown why they would levy that accusation.
