Former One Direction member Liam Payne went on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive yesterday and shared a number of stories about the group, which the One Direction fandom is not happy about.

Payne told Logan Paul that a member of his band shoved him against a wall, that he outsold all of the others with his first single, and that he has “many reasons” to dislike Zayn Malik. Reactions from fans on social media platforms were swift, severe and angry — with many posting memes critical of Payne.

Fans compared the restraint other members of the band have shown in talking about their personal lives to Payne's spilling of the 1D beans. There were also attacks against Payne and Logan Paul for their past controversies.

Internet personality Taylor Caniff got in on the controversy, calling out Payne for past misbehavior, before getting called out himself.

A separate group of One Direction stans pushed back against the commentary, arguing that Liam Payne would never insult Zayn Malik and Logan Paul is to blame for pushing him to say otherwise. This segment of fans made the hashtag "#LoganPaulIsOverParty" trend on Twitter.

Other fans called the supporters of Liam Payne out of touch with reality and argued his appearance on the Paul podcast was a low point in his career.
