For many Americans, it was disheartening when the President of the United States told the Proud Boys, a far-right, "western chauvinist" organization whose presence has been felt at Black Lives Matter protests to "stand by" during the upcoming election during the first presidential debate. The statement, far from a condemnation, emboldened the Proud Boys on social media, putting them at the forefront of internet consciousness.

However, a recent trend has found the LGBTQ+ community raiding the #ProudBoys hashtag with pictures of themselves, well, being gay.

Evidently, the Proud Boys are none-too-happy about the movement. There is no official Proud Boys presence on Twitter since the site banned them in 2018, so they've taken to Parler, a similar app popular with conservatives. There, Forbes reported that users were absolutely furious to see their name associated with LGBTQ+ images.

“Fags,” wrote user @Ryanha5150. “Can’t stand gay people…should be illegal.” Others posted general Nazi rhetoric implying calling for the extermination of the LGBTQ+ community.

The move is reminiscent of when K-Pop stans flooded hashtags like "#WhiteLivesMatter" with fancams earlier this summer, making this another example of negative hashtags turned into a chaotic good on social media.

Gavin McInnes has on separate occasions made out with Milo Yiannopoulos and shoved stuff up his butt on both camera as part of his show.
The Proud Boys openly allows gay men to be part of their organization.
The people making these post are not actually going after the Proud Boys; they're going after boogiemen that only exist in their head.

Note: I don't actually support the Proud Boys because they're contributing to the break down of law and order (even though they may not intend it) because they go picking fights, and a few time have jumped people and beat them up.

…Didn't the FBI classify them as as an extremist group with ties to White supremacism?

I can approve of this; it's certainly better than something like "Santorum" where they deliberately invented a new "meaning" of a word that didn't exist before just to vandalize a political opponent.

This is like a reverse swastika effect, turning something hateful into something positive

In this situation minus to minus does not give a plus.
The first faction wants to destroy America, and their opponents want to make America strong – all these situations are bad for the world, we only need a weak living America.

I just want to point something out before something happens:
The Proud Boys aren't white supremes, nor are they fascist in any capacity. They are stupidly patriotic, but not fascistic. There leader is Enrique Tarrio, who (judging from the picture) is african-cuban.

I live in Wisconsin, I've SEEN what Antifa/BLM does. Gay people 'hijacking' the Proud Boys hashtag is a very very tiny blip on the "Why-Should-I-Give-A-Fuck-o-meter". The Proud Boys are literally the only standing in the way of an entire Antifa take over of cities and states.
