Keanu Reeves Will Voice Shadow The Hedgehog In Third 'Sonic' Movie, In Potentially Massive Casting For Memes
Keanu Reeves has now been cast as arguably the two greatest Sigma Males in history: John Wick and Shadow the Hedgehog.
Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the actor had been cast to voice Shadow in the upcoming third film in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise.
The announcement was met with tremendous enthusiasm from the Sonic fandom online, as several have been fan-casting Reeves as "The Ultimate Lifeform" for years (in fact, one Twitter / X user predicted it would happen in February of 2020).
Obviously, speculation immediately turned to which of Shadow's many iconic lines would be voiced by Reeves, while others imagined which John Wick lines would fit Shadow.
The announcement marks a second straight film where the Sonic franchise cast an A-list actor to voice one of Sonic's buds, following Idris Elba's turn as Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the Paramount+ series.
The third Sonic film releases on December 20th, meaning it will still be some time before we hear Reeves' performance, but if the early reaction to the announcement is any indication, the film should have a successful opening night as people tune in to hear Reeves' take on the edgelord of the Sonic franchise.
