Psychologist Jordan Peterson is currently processing the idea that Red Skull, a villain in the Captain America universe, may be based on him in a recent Captain America issue written by author and Atlantic contributor Ta-Nehisi Coates.

He may very well be right: in the issue, Captain America talks about a young boy "disappearing into the internet" and coming out with a "new theory of the world," fed to him by Red Skull. The next panel shows a still of what Red Skull's internet content looks like. It shows him offering the "Ten Rules For Life" (Peterson's book is called The Twelve Rules For Life) with sections "Chaos and Order," "Karl Lueger's Genius" and "The Feminist Trap."

"(Skull) tells them what they've always longed to hear," says Captain America. "That they are secretly great. That the whole world's against them. That if they're truly men, they'll fight back. And bingo. That's their purpose. That's what they live for and that's what they'll die for."

(Captain America Issue #28)

After the panel was brought to Peterson's attention by a fan, he posted several tweets bewildered at the implied analogy between himself and Red Skull.

Others less sympathetic to Peterson found the comparison and Peterson's confusion more humorous.

Coates, who is not on Twitter, has yet to respond to the situation.

Correction: An earlier version of this article identified Peterson as a philosopher. It has been changed to correctly identify Peterson as a psychologist.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Jordan Peterson is a fucking moron but this is cringe. Not because I feel attacked or whatever by the comic but because it's done so ham-fistedly and anviliciously.

There's nothing wrong with parodying people in media with people who are obvious carciatures of real life people. Hell, one of the supervillians in Evil Genius 2 was based off of Hillary Clinton and Margaret Thatcher both.

This is just lazy, though. Peterson might be a useless fucking moron with no value and a sycophantic crowd of fans, but come on.

A stopped clock is right twice a day. One or two fair points but the rest of it is inane gibberish about the 'chaotic natures' of women or how women in saudi arabia are actually asking to be abused because they want to be dominated.

Or some weird quantum mysticism shit he's fond of. The man's a nut with a calm radio voice.

Are you actually dumb Adam?

>*Controversial philosofer* He is a psychologist, you literaly started wrong right into the first line…

>*Thinks is based on him* Red skull parody makes reference to feminism criticism and even "10 rules for living" a parody of jordan peterson's book "12 rules for life"

BTW Congratulations for being called by Tim Pool biased and missinformed Adam.

When the Nazi makes the same talking points as you, that's a sign to reexamine your positions.

Wait so if I edit in "When the Nazi makes the same talking points as you, that's a sign to reexamine your positions." next to red skull does that mean you'll change your mind?

Gotta love how the usual twitter crowd tries and paint this as if there was no apparent jab at the guy even tho just "10 rules on life" should raises suspicions, that and that their comic have gone the deep woke end.

If I had one wish, it would be for every time a woke twitter moron makes allusion to someone being a fascist/Nazi, theyd be immediately switched time-lines with victims of the Nazi regime. But again they might like it, their chins is essentially a resting point for authoritarian ballsacks so.

Can modern Marvel writers learn to get bare bones plot structure and character arcs done correctly before jumping straight into more 'deep political themes'?

Wait, I forgot who I was talking about for a second.

So is this part of a larger plan, or did Red Skull just decide to give up on world domination in favor of making a website for incels? That's kinda aiming low for a Nazi supervillian with enhanced strength. It'd be like Lex Luthor deciding to steal some cakes.

And you gotta be on the look out for Joker's boner, I heard it was gonna be a big one.

ConspiracyNut

Lex stole 40 of Joker's boners, and that's terrible.

Politics in media can be done right. Its takes a lot of skill and effort. If you cant make the politics balanced within the story i.e good guys have x politics and bad guys have y politics; then at least giving proper accurate depictions of each sides mindset is the best way to go. However Marvel comic writers don't have skill these days.
They continue to use a out of character Red Skull as an effigy against politics they don't like in the real world.

Well, the Nazis did share similar beliefs that Jordan Peterson holds. From women being chaotic, to cleaning up your own image before trying to fix the world, to trying to live up to mythical archetypes, and an obsession with trying to justify their cruelty through biology.

I mean Jordan Peterson has allied himself with actual Neo-Nazis in the past.

You realize Buddhism and other religions and ideologies say the same things? Youre basically saying: apples are fruits and so are pears therefore a pear is an apple
