Joe Rogan Tests Positive For COVID, Touts Ivermectin In His Treatment Plan
One of the most well-known podcasters in the world, Joe Rogan has tested positive for COVID-19, posting an announcement in a video yesterday.
In the clip, which went viral yesterday, Rogan also announced that he has begun a treatment plan that includes the controversial drug called Ivermectin, which has been in the news recently for causing sickness in people who attempt to use it to treat COVID-19.
Many people were quick to note how, due to Rogan's large presence online, that his handling of COVID-19 will likely have far more impact than commercials and other media will. This is also part of the reason why Rogan's usage has stirred up such a viral debate, as it could convince others to try the treatment as well.
We're all hoping @joerogan has a speedy recovery from COVID-19. I expect Joe's experience -- which will be very public -- will have more impact on public health policy than any of the "rogue doctor" viral videos. You can decide if that is bad or good.

Joe Rogan took Ivermectin. Scared shitless (or shit-full) of a virus that’s apparently not that scary or that much of a big of a deal. Really funny.

>People calling Ivermectin "a medicine only for deworming horses" accusing people of spreading misinformation
Revic
It's used to treat malaria in humans. It's also used to deworm horses. Calling it horse medicine is exactly as accurate as calling it human medicine. It's just funnier, particularly when being used to dunk on people who think it's a 100% viable alternative to or replacement for vaccination.
Catboy#333
It took me far too long to realise that Rogan is just an abolute idiot and that his show, overall, has done far more harm than good.
Gumshoe
Is Joe Rogan getting progressively dumber as time goes by?

> Joe Rogan: I'm not putting that COVID vaccine in my body! Who knows what it could do?
but he DID get vaccinated, months ago
and now everyone will parrot that he didn't because nobody really knows what they're talking about anymore, they're repeating after their herd leaders
Timstuff
People who need to get fact check labels on their tweets aren't getting fact checked because they're pushing the right narrative. The useful narrative is that Joe Rogan is an antivaxxer who got covid and then took horse medicine. The truth is that he had the vaccine, he got covid anyway, and ivermectin was one of several (human) medicines that his doctors gave him while he recovered.
Pokejoseph64
Ah so Rogan is retarded.
Got it.
Rynjin
Always has been.
WarLordM
Of course he's fine, he's a physically fit adult. Most people who get COVID are fine
ZiggyZig
Also he looks a bit like a horse, Ivermectin should work really well on him!
Gumshoe
He's very unlikely to die, but he may still get very sick and possibly have long-term symptoms, which are not yet fully understood. Preliminary research has shown that up to 33% of people who did not need hospital care still experienced symptoms for up to 3 months: https://theconversation.com/how-many-people-get-long-covid-and-who-is-most-at-risk-154331
It's not "dead" but its also not "fine".

For his next trick, he will cure cancer using laxatives, toothpaste, and WD-40.

Sounds like the average episode of McGyver
