Coming off his charges last week for a domestic battery incident that occurred in 2020, Justin Roiland is once again receiving backlash with several conversations being posted online, purportedly of him DMing various women and some allegedly being underage.

According to the accusations stemming from the leaked messages in recent days, many are alleging that these DMs show the Rick and Morty co-creator attempting to engage in grooming or steering conversations toward sexual intercourse.

Some of the earliest snippets of the conversations being leaked purportedly between Roiland and underage girls can be found as far back as November 2022, with his recent arrest perhaps helping to also give more attention to what was already stated previously but didn't gain viral attention.

As before with his domestic abuse arrest, people have similarly begun to make memes of Roiland portraying him as a "groomer" in a similar sense to individuals like EDP.

Because of the wide array of shows that Roiland has worked on as a creator with a high amount of creative control, people also began to look at various things that have been made by him through the new perspective of the grooming accusations, coming up with some eyebrow-raising conclusions.

Hmmm… Half of the accusations sound like Justin Roiland being Justin Roiland. All of his jokes are genital, boob, butt, poop, urine jokes. It's all inclusive. The kind of jokes you don't get to opt out of because no one\ is special. Demanding to be opted out marks the demander as a one -ist or another. Or worse, a -phile.
The other half sounds like unverifiable nonsense. Common unverifiable nonsense. Junk mail gold diggers.

I hate that I actually have to check whether someone even means something even vaguely sex-related when they mention "grooming" these days. I really could have done without reading some of that.

IKR, I feel bad for anyone who deals with cleaning/hygiene services. Now I can not think something is up when I hear "Pet Grooming"

This is shaping up to be one hell of a downfall.

It's kind of a funny one. It feels like a lot of people get exposed for something and meet their downfalls when their popularity is on an upward trajectory. Like Louis CK was just about to release his first major movie when his accusations came, or Kevin Spacey was right about to do the last season of House of Cards. With Roiland, it sort of feels like this happened as he was wearing out his welcome anyway. His video game wasn't well-received, and Rick and Morty was really losing popularity and definitely a lot of cultural relevance, to the point where it feels nowadays like if you still like it you have to justify yourself to people for it.

His whole shtick just felt like it was getting old too. Some quirky stylistic stuff he did (improv dialgue, stuttering, random belching, hyper-specific references) was funny and unique when R&M was new but now it just feels kind of old and gimmicky.

High on Life has like a 90% on steam, and its been consistently in the top sellers since launch. It was also one of the biggest Game Pass releases since the service started. It is undoubtedly a success. Critic reviews mean jack nowadays, especially with the posiitive word of mouth. His game studio had built some goodwill with gamers and these allegations may hurt it in the long run.

As far as R&M goes, that always happens when comedy shows get popular. Everyone hates Simpsons, Family Guy, every popular sitcom ever made, just the way it goes.

Hoping all this stuff is BS because tons of people like his stuff and it's just a bummer. Hope this doesn't end up true like the Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, and Louis CK stuff. I'm optimistic because nothing has been cancelled.
