The 2024 Democratic National Convention kicked off last night, and while some may argue the lowlight of the night was New York Governor Kathy Hochul sucking the air out of the room with what many felt was a dull speech, for others, it was undoubtedly the seconds after Hillary Clinton wrapped up her speech.

After Clinton hit the final line of her speech, the chorus of "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten began blaring over the speakers.

If for whatever reason you don't remember the finer details of the 2016 United States Presidential Election, first off, we envy you, and second of all, you may not understand the psychological damage inflicted by the above clip.

"Fight Song" was Clinton's 2016 campaign theme music. It's an irritatingly catchy rah-rah tune that played at Clinton's rallies, and thus, was everywhere during the 2016 election season.

Imagine Pete Buttigieg winning the 2020 nomination and being forced to listen to "High Hopes" by Panic! at the Disco every time he appeared on television. This is the level of ear-worm torture Democrats were dealing with at the time.

The song's "moment" culminated in a now-infamous video of liberal celebrities tunelessly singing the song's lyrics at Clinton's own 2016 coronation. For about three years, it was the premier example of celebrity cringe singing before Gal Gadot's 'Imagine' Video took the crown.

Clinton also famously lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump, which itself is a well-memed painful memory for Democrats that essentially made all things Clinton-related a sore subject.

Thus, when the heavily produced voice of Platten dropped following Clinton's speech, it basically accomplished a long-stated conservative goal and deeply, painfully triggered the libs.

While online liberals reckon with the psychic damage caused by a reprise of "Fight Song," the moment inspired at least one good meme.

She tried using "Rebel Girl" by Bikini Kill when she ran in 2016 but was given a cease and desist because the band and their fans thought that she represented everything they're against.
