Ten years ago, Flappy Bird, a mobile game in which you tap the screen to make a yellow bird go up and dodge obstacles for as long as you can, went massively viral and got so many people addicted that its creator took down his creation out of moral concerns.

Yesterday, the Flappy Bird Foundation, who describe themselves as "a team of passionate fans committed to sharing the game with the world," announced that the iconic mobile game will be making a comeback in 2025, initially on iOS and Android and later on other platforms.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which revealed that the classic game will be revamped with new characters, modes and other new features not found in the original iteration.

The team behind the game, who acquired the trademark from Gametech Holdings LLC, says that new game modes, progression and even "massive multiplayer challenges for the world to flap together" are in the works for the remake.

Whether the game will manage to repeat its past success remains to be seen, but people on social media have already started posting memes about the unexpected comeback as hype begins to build online.

Flappy Bird fandom is dying, share the news if you're a true flapper!

This is not Flappy Bird. This is a capitalized NFT scam version based off Flappy Bird. Get your facts right before you get scammed. (Also NFTs are worthless at this point)

Looks like these guys just yoinked the trademark from the original guy because it has been so long it was technically considered abondoned.
