A year ago, YouTubers Markiplier and CrankGameplays came up with an idea for a channel where they'd upload a video a day about whatever they wanted for a year and then delete all of the channel's content when the year was up. And what a year they picked!

The Unus Annus channel, appropriately named for the type of lowbrow shenanigans the pair would engage in, featured Markiplier and CrankGameplays doing painful stunts and going through gross-out material, such as watching 2 Girls 1 Cup. At 3 A.M. EST tonight, the channel is scheduled for deletion.

The channel was created as a way of celebrating being in the moment, and the pair have requested that none of their videos be re-uploaded after the channel's deletion.

With the end in sight, fans of the series have posted tributes to its wild content online, leading #UnusAnnusisoverparty to trend on Twitter.

Farewell Unus Annus. Maybe next time, try to do this during a year that isn't so, you know, 2020.

I haven't been paying much attention to Markiplier lately, so I honestly had no idea this even existed until a week before they took it down. I have mixed feelings about missing it.

So, now that it's at an end… was any of it worth watching? Asking because there's zero chance it isn't archived.

Quite honestly, pretty much only the beginning, before the pandemic.

No one in the West took it seriously before Lunar New Year… so that'd be at least a third…

If you like improvisational comedy, nonsense, morbid humor, shitpostiness, and Mark and Ethan, then it's good to watch.
If you don't like those things, well…

Got less than an hour and a half to check it out in its legitimate form, either way.

How much do you want to bet someone's made an archive of the channel even though they said not to?

Also, how much do you want to bet they're gonna do it again and call it "Secundus Annus"?

I don't see them doing it again but they might make some separate videos out of the ideas they couldn't do during quarantine.

I dunno, Mark and Ethan were pretty straight when they said they'd come down like the wrath of God on anyone that reupped it.
Though chances are, it's all on The Pirate Bay or some crap.
I personally downloaded like the 12 or so "episodes" I thought were good enough to keep.

Depends if it's re-uploaded or not. If it's an ACTUAL archive, purely for preservation but not for public eyes (not until decades later at least) I think it's somewhat fine.

Certainly too many folks online don't know what "archive" means.
