The 2020 video game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has had a big resurgence in recent months with a lot of streamers and content creators heading back to it at the start of the new season and the game officially going free-to-play.

Still going strong off that initial hype, the game has now officially launched its collaboration with Sonic the Hedgehog, leading to several Fall Guys getting Sonic themed skins and an entire event stage made for the crossover. With the release of the event came a lot of hype from both the Fall Guys and Sonic fanbases online.

Despite the warm reception from some, not everyone was happy with the event, and there were two main points of contention amongst the fanbase appearing in the discussions.

While it's completely understandable that the characters used would be the ones from the Sonic movie tie-ins, there were still many from the Sonic fanbase that were hoping for more characters, such as Amy Rose or Shadow.

Another issue taken up by members of the fanbase was Dr. Eggman. This point of contention (and memeing) revolved around Eggman getting a generic costume given to a Fall Guy where developers rendered a model of Dr. Eggman down to scale with Fall Guy proportions, leading to a few unhappy responses.
