Elon Musk Blocks Catturd And James Woods After They Criticize His Proposal To Remove X's Blocking Feature
Elon Musk announced that he plans to remove X's "blocking" feature late last week, causing a stir even among some of his most ardent followers on the social media platform, with many detractors finding themselves blocked by Musk for raising concerns about the move.
Despite Musk's insistence that having a block feature on X "makes no sense," various accounts that have been known to support Musk in the past made X posts opposing his decision. Conservative X influencer @Catturd made a post on Saturday explaining why he personally likes the block feature but purportedly found himself blocked by Musk without warning soon after.
Catturd wasn't the only conservative Musk fan caught in the crosshairs of the billionaire's ironic blocking spree, as actor James Woods took to his X account to criticize Musk for being a "greedy capitalist" trying to appease advertisers, receiving a public reply from Musk asking him to "delete" his account yesterday.
Woods too purportedly found himself blocked by Elon Musk soon after this interaction, but the irony of his actions seems to have escaped Musk entirely after he made a separate X post to talk about how his decision to block detractors was seemingly his way of giving them a taste of their own medicine.
Various internet users were shocked by Musk and Catturd's falling out, given Musk has historically been receptive to Catturd's opinions and requests.
NBC reporter Ben Collins made a post humorously expressing staggering shock at Musk's actions, while X user @GarlicCorgi theorized that Catturd's decision not to doggedly agree with Musk's every move led to the businessman turning on him.
But not all Elon Musk supporters were convinced that it was Musk himself who had decided to go on a blocking spree right after announcing that he would be getting rid of blocks altogether. One person even theorized that it could have been the work of a "crazy leftist woman" from Musk's team.
