Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, shared in testimony to the January 6th Committee this afternoon that on January 6th, 2021, former President Donald Trump reportedly assaulted a Secret Service agent and grab the wheel of the presidential limo, also known as "the beast."

While her testimony is ongoing, some of the claims during today's hearing have rapidly gone viral, almost completely dominating the trending section of Twitter.

Following his remarks to the crowd at the Ellipse, in which he told them to march on the Capitol and said he’d accompany them, Trump tried to get the Secret Service to drive him to the Capitol. When the driver refused to do so, Trump reportedly grabbed at the steering wheel of the presidential limousine and then attempted to choke a Secret Service agent who tried to restrain him.

Hutchinson described walking into the office of a coworker in the West Wing and finding the man Trump laid hands on “discombobulated.” She also reported helping clean ketchup off the walls of the White House because Trump had purportedly “thrown his lunch” against the wall out of frustration.

The Committee originally had no hearings planned until July, but last night announced a “special witness” and a special session. Many speculated as to who this special witness would be leading up to today's dramatic hearing.

Hutchinson, who describes the events of January 6th as “like watching a bad car accident happen,” offers an inside view of what purportedly happened in the White House on January 6th and the extent to which Donald Trump understood his behavior or intended violence on that day.

Trump has called Hutchinson "bad news" in a Truth Social post following her remarks.

Hutchinson shared that White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows typically could be found scrolling his phone lying on the couch in his office and was often unresponsive when she asked him questions or told him startling news on January 6th.
