If anyone can lay claim to having the best week ever on the social media, it would be a 16-year-old YouTube gaming video blogger who goes by the name Jeff "Tutorials." Why? Because the President of the United States retweeted him.

Jeff ("Tutorials" is, tragically, not his real last name) is a moderately popular YouTuber who offers tips and tricks on how to play and mod the legendary action-adventure video game Grand Theft Auto 5. His most popular video, "GTA Online Mods- How To Be A Modder! (GTA V Modding)" has over 405,000 views. He is also, evidently, an ardent supporter of President Donald Trump. On Monday, Jeff tweeted a graphic that was right in the president's comedy sweet spot, changing the "C" in "CNN" to an "F", thus creating "Fake News Network."

On Tuesday afternoon, the president retweeted Jeff's satire, and as of Wednesday morning, the tweet has accrued over 10,000 retweets and 30,000 likes. Jeff celebrated by making a story on Snapchat about it, to which a bunch of his fans said "Whoa, that's so cool."

Mr. "Tutorials" is 16 and a rising senior in high school. Though he claims politics are not a huge part of his life, he is keenly aware of the political climate on Twitter and has at least some familiarity with the right's stance against some news outlets; before interviewing with The Daily Beast, Mr. Tutorials tweeted that they were "fake news." He was no fan of their piece after it was written, either.

Now that he has been retweeted by the president, Jeff ponders if he'll bring politics to his channel. He is a big fan of "independent YouTube journalism" and voiced admiration for YouTuber Mark Dice, who wrote 2005's "The Resistance Manifesto" about New World Order conspiracies.

Twitter users were once again left mouth agape at the surreality of the president retweeting a Grand Theft Auto YouTuber, and thus a days worth of jokes were given life:

Clearly, the surreal, uncharted landscape we live in in 2017 has no signs of changing any time soon.

Until then, I'm Adam with Know Your Meme and if you liked what you read, please "like, comment, and subscribe" and maybe one day the president will read our articles.

the left's obsession with hating donald trump will do nothing but make him stronger. Left the guy fuck himself up, he's plenty good at it. Just report, don't sensationalize, and give it a good sober look. Back off the Russia shit until there's EVIDENCE (or none). We're talking about MSM though, they are like one step above Trump on the shittiness scale.

I agree to a point, but what counts as evidence for the Russia thing? I mean, a lot of it is just dug deeper by the way Trump acts towards it. I understand if a lack of like, video evidence is what's needed, but somehow I don't think Russia's nearly as incompetent as Trump is towards things like that. I don't know, there's a LOT of circumstantial stuff that doesn't prove it but seems to more heavily imply. So honestly I'm usually fine with people having the opinion of there not being enough evidence, but to say that there's none at all usually confuses me… where was I going with this?

Trump, as much I dislike him as I would Hillary, has been getting blasted in his arse by CNN and MSM and any other news blogger that is part of the drone hive mind. With every little thing he does being watched at all times and still being probed around by "Russiagate", doing what he can to push that mess aside and look towards a more important issue, North Korea for say, yet is still haunted by circle-jerkers, I wouldn't blame him for being rather pissed off by all these shenanigans. But like any victim of troll comments, he goes off about them and retorts back to them, adding more fuel to the fire for the press to eat off of. Like I said, I don't like the guy, he's irritating with his lack of knowledge, like him giving the "O.K" to the FCC on fucking over the Internet, and down right being a man-child; yet that somewhat doesn't qualify for receiving the amount of whining from the countless shit talkers from the press or anti-trumps messages trump has to receive on a daily basis.

But like dirk said, if trump can just have less of an ego he's already portraying, and just let things take its course, people would then, eventually, get over it. hopefully this will make CNN or MSM lose business, since their professionalism in circle jerking has costed America, wot, 3 billion dollars in revenue, because everyone wanted an answer to Russiagate. But I'm sure those foul leeches will find something to shit talk about.

I'm just going to give the investigation time to occur, since there's a huge amount of polar opposite beliefs on whether or not something was going on, (Personally speaking I don't think he's SMART ENOUGH to collude, and is probably just being manipulated, but that doesn't really make things much better). Either way I can't go a single day without finding out he's saying or doing something beyond stupid, and that's not just the petty stuff that, while laughable like the ice cream thing, isn't really reporting worthy. Maybe something to bring up on a program dedicated to ridicule and/or satire. I mean there's that and this is basically what Obama was going through most of his presidency but with a bunch of news networks trying to get as much attention as possible rather than just one propaganda machine spewing flat out not true as opposed to unproven things. But what do I know? Maybe I'm biased and partisan and don't see the sides as exactly the same as opposed to one side being moderate with the other being radical. Maybe the vast majority of the developed world is wrong and the country we're in is NOT actually as radically conservative as it seems. I don't know, and honestly I want to be able to stop caring before I lose my mind, but know I can't do that or even worse things might happen without any push to stop them.

This really isn't altogether surprising. Trump is not known for really caring about sources of things he retweets (which is why he has retweeted things from white supremacist accounts and /pol/ memes) and has even stated on the record that he shouldn't be expected to verify if something on Twitter is even true before repeating it.

What I do find surprising is that the teenager in question, gave an interview with The Daily Beast, because shortly before that he posted the email they sent reaching out to him stating that they were fake news and trying to trick him. He then did the interview anyway and called it a hit piece despite it being quite neutral on him. He also claimed it would damage his brand (which is usually apolitical GTA content), but one would surely think that consistently posting controversial and incendiary political stances on Twitter would be a much bigger problem in that regard.

Never mind the previous comment.

Quite an unexpected piece of backstory. The president's twitter is a powerful tool that can be used by anyone…

“He is a big fan of “independent YouTube journalism””

okay then, I can understand why he would think tha..

" and voiced admiration for YouTuber Mark Dice"

Uhhhh, I don't think the illuminati conspiracy theorist classifies as an "independent YouTube journalist"

StringFish

Mark Dice is about as credible as Anita Sarkeesian.
