It is a truth universally acknowledged that a meme dies as soon as it hits the political sphere. We've seen it before with OK Boomer and Hillary Clinton's attempts to use Pokémon GO and The Mannequin Challenge, but perhaps no meme has been so brutally and ruthlessly murdered as Baby Yoda was by Donald Trump Jr. last night.

Perhaps the world's most prominent Large Adult Son in the world, Donald Trump Jr. has branded his entire persona around attempting to trigger the libs. Last night, he attempted to trigger the libs again by posting an image of his father's face superimposed on Baby Yoda's face in a piece called "The Magalorian." He captioned the post, "Triggered in 3…2…1."

This is quite frankly, a lot to take in. The garish photoshop job of Trump's face and hair; the half-cropped handle of the meme's creator; the smug assumption that the poorly-made meme would anger people instead of inspiring feelings of second-hand embarrassment. Paste called it "one of the most offensively stupid memes we’ve ever seen."

Game for a laugh, several commenters have dunked on Jr.'s post by saying "I think this is doctored," referring to the Rocky Trump fiasco of some weeks prior. Regardless, Baby Yoda has now been permanently stained by hitting the political sphere.

Anybody who knows anything about right-wing memes knows that "triggering the left" is often the joke itself (whether or not it actually happens doesn't matter). I.E. post a pineapple with Trump's face obviously photoshopped on with some dumb text, and then saying "me triggering the left" or something like that.
Also considering how the author here is taking it I would say it may have worked.
>poorly made meme
>second-hand embarrassment

Oh, it absolutely worked. One just has to look at the unabashedly biased wording of this article to see that. This site trades on poorly shopped memes, Adam knows that, just as Adam knows he wouldn't bother to comment on the "garish" nature of the meme had some nobody posted it. But Donald Trump Jr.? Oh, he's "attempting" to "trigger the left again", as if Twitter's blue check mark armada being regularly triggered wasn't a very real phenomena.

And if that wasn't evidence enough, you were downvoted for simply making this observation. As will I be.

>once again tried to "trigger" the libs
That statement comes across as very salty, even if Trump jr. does have boomer-tier meme sense
