Doja Cat Beefs With A 17-year-old Actor From 'Stranger Things' Because He Told The Internet About Her Crush
Celebs are at it again as pop singer Doja Cat is currently having a bizarre public feud with 17-year-old Noah Schnapp, the actor who plays Will Byers in the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, because Schnapp posted her DMs to him in which she asked Schnapp to hook her up with Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson in the series.
The context for this bizarre story is as follows: Doja Cat, who has tweeted before that Joseph Quinn is "fine as shit," apparently DMed Schnapp to see if he could put her in contact with Quinn. Schnapp responded by directing her to Quinn's Instagram, which is publically available. He then posted a screenshot of the exchange in a deleted TikTok.
This evidently rubbed Doja Cat the wrong way, and she went off on Schnapp in an Instagram Live that's since gone viral. "The fact that this person, that Noah did that … is so unbelievably socially unaware and wack," Doja told viewers. "Like, that’s borderline snake shit. That’s, like, weasel shit."
The fallout from her Instagram Live caused "Noah," "Doja Cat" and "He's 17" to trend on Twitter, as many found it ridiculous that Doja Cat, 26, would ask a 17-year-old to set her up with a 29-year-old via public social media accounts (which, granted, he has stated he does not check frequently).
Neither Quinn nor Schnapp have commented on their names being thrust into the social media spotlight by the aggrieved "Say So" singer, but if there's a moral to be learned from this brouhaha, perhaps it's this: If you're an adult and romantically interested in a fellow adult, it is probably best to not seek an introduction through that person's teenage coworker.
