Scene from the trailer

For those who haven't gone to see Spider-Man: No Way Home, the release of the teaser trailer for Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness couldn't come soon enough. Originally used as the end-credit setup scene for the next big MCU project, this teaser was released independently to start drumming up hype for the anticipated movie. It succeeded, with the teaser itself gaining over 1.5million views in under an hour.

The trailer also showed off one of the key important plot points, while also helping to bridge the gap between the Disney+ Marvel projects, such as Wandavision and Loki with the movies and central universe of the series. The real surprise of the trailer was the introduction of the Doctor Strange from the Marvel's What If series. Within the What If series, a version of Doctor Strange ended up consumed with the need to try and change the fate of his car accident, with it always ending in the death of Christine Palmer. Eventually, he ends up collapsing his entire universe, but thanks to Loki destroying the barrier between multiverses in that series, it appears that the evil Dr. Strange will be facing off against the prime Dr. Strange, much to the enjoyment of fans.
